She felt a chill run
Down her spine.
She knew she was being watched,
All the time!
‘Can you hear me?’
He licked his lips,
Salivated when he saw her.
She was an easy target
At that time of day, he jeered.
‘Can you hear me?’
He pursued her.
Like a deer she leapt away.
He followed, pounced, ate.
Relished watching her life ebb away.
‘Can you hear me?’
When it comes to wooing his lady love,
The ferocious crocodile,
Rubs her head, then patiently waits,
Till she chooses a worthy one, with a smile.
‘Can you hear me?’
Not so, when it comes to humankind.
Women are stalked, raped, killed.
All in the name of stoking the ‘fragile’ male ego,
Women are degraded time after time.
‘Can you hear me?’
