She felt a chill run
Down her spine.
She knew she was being watched,
All the time!
‘Can you hear me?’
He licked his lips,
Salivated when he saw her.
She was an easy target
At that time of day, he jeered.
‘Can you hear me?’
He pursued her.
Like a deer she leapt away.
He followed, pounced, ate.
Relished watching her life ebb away.
‘Can you hear me?’
When it comes to wooing his lady love,
The ferocious crocodile,
Rubs her head, then patiently waits,
Till she chooses a worthy one, with a smile.
‘Can you hear me?’
Not so, when it comes to humankind.
Women are stalked, raped, killed.
All in the name of stoking the ‘fragile’ male ego,
Women are degraded time after time.
‘Can you hear me?’
Oh my! What a beauty, Nat girl! Male ego and crocs🙏🙏
Hats off! Powerful one.💚👌
Thank you Sonali. Glad you felt it to be a powerful poem. I wanted to bring in the ferociousness of the male croc is nothing compared to the bestiality of man!
💚💚🙏
Powerful take dear💚👌
Thanks Esha
Heart wrenching! Loved the reference to the crocodile and how even they are kind and merciful to their prospective mates.
Powerful poem, Natasha.
Thanks my dear. Really appreciate your feedback
Great comparison. We make the crocs look tame.
Thanks for reading and appreciating, Sai.
Powerful💚💚💚👌
Thanks dear
What an analogy! Powerful
Thank you, M’am
Loved it ! So poignant and deep. Humans were supposedly the best of god’s creations, they are actually the worst. Well penned.
Thank you, Rianka
Wow!! Powerful call attention to the callous, inhumane acts of humans.
Thanks Geeta:)
Ah, crocs aren’t a patch on crocs. Their bestiality has no match. So well penned, Natasha.
Men can be worse than animals. A crocodile does it to survive. Not so a man. A strong poem.
Thanks Seema
Right you are Doel
Wonderful comparison has been made…human beings can learn a thing or two even from the crocodiles!
Sad.. Bitter, ugly truth..
