I wish I were a cloud
That glides through the sky
In a spic and span white
And plays peek a boo
With the sun and the moon
I wish I were the rain
That the petrichor carries
To quench the thirst of
The mud , the trees
And the lively creatures.
I wish I were a bird
That soars up high
And traverses miles
Across mountains and springs
By just a flap of the wings.
I wish I were a leaf,
That forms a majestic crown
On a barren tree trunk,
Bejeweled with colourful fruits
And the diamond dewdrop.
I wish I were a child
That is full of life
And devoid of sorrow
Whose innocence radiates
A smile on the beholder.
