White Lies

Life is beautiful, you told me.

It’s a virtue, to be born as a woman.

Every divine feminine energy is within me.

.

That Shakti, I do possess.

Then why don’t I have the power to eradicate the demons?

Who tear me apart, burn to ashes and blame me for their every fault.

.

You said, woman personifies Lakshmi.

Do I have the basic needs-

To live life with dignity?

.

You said, Saraswati resides in my soul

Why then, the darkness of ignorance

Keeps engulfing our clan?

.

Every single day, life is a challenge.

Fight from womb to tomb-

Fight to be born, live and for every right.

.

In your every word I find a lie

Like the false slogans of our time.

Fingers crossed, hoping they all come true.
