Trending

Trending keeps me hooked,

It satisfies my ego,

I feel overwhelmed, and I develop narcissistic streak.

Everywhere then, I look for validation,

Criticism, I can no more digest,

In the pursuit of likes and pleasing comments,

I neglect, rather reject, the daily and mandatory chores.

Only if such trivial works like caring for the family,

Spending time with them, and showering love,

Instead of material riches and luxuries,

Could be trending, I would have taken them seriously.

Till the facade falls off let me bask in this hypothetical world.
