I love thunderstorms
they reside within everyone
explosion
of suppressed strength
Fierce yet a boon
Nature’s fury,
Heaven’s love
for his soulmate earth,
a thick blanket of vaporized water
masking countless emotions
beneath myriad tints
of grey
when saturated
burst into crystals;
their thunderous growls
calm my heart.
—
Smudging the northern fringe
they rose
draping the gold with black,
concealing the lustrous gleams,
dark yet luminous
brightening my soul
with streaks of intermittent
silver lightning
along the rims
filling my heart with joy,
sizzling pavement
scorching earth
kissed by the first soft drop;
pitter-patter
they rattle and tumble.
—
Static broad trunk
but limbs swaying
wind rocking the grass and shrubs,
wafting autumn’s
final golden trace
everywhere…
crows ravens battling the gusts,
cackling, the kids enjoy
women scurrying
picking dry clothes from the terrace,
vacant streets, locked stores
scared folks, quaking vehicles;
terrified cattle galloping
towards the barn,
withered pastures
waiting for the greys
to embrace them.
—
I love thunderstorms
somehow I relate to them
brushing over
the emerald brine
swelling lofty curls,
raging ebbs of saltwater
lashing on the boulders
disintegrating,
eroding,
chattering with the
shattered gravel,
inspiring
each grain to transform
from Dust to a Pearl.💚
