I still remember the days

When in my childhood

The gardener Raghu brought

basketful of Jasmine flowers

To the delight of my mom.

She used to comb my

Lustrous long hair

Making two braids

And fixed two strings of

Fragrant jasmine flowers on my braids.

I loved the fragrance very much

And became very happy with it.

Then mom would kiss my cheek,

“Go dear and play ,

Spread the fragrance as much as you can.

That was pure love with a blessing.

I wonder now if I am successful

What mom had said,

Have I spread fragrance around me

Or I have failed?
