Incas

Glorious Incas,

With a heart of gold,

Revered their sun God Inti,

And saw his blessings,

In their abundent gold.

.

For gold was not just gold for them-

It was a sentiment, a manifestation,

Of their Inti’s flame.

It was a metal pious,

Which had achieved for them,

Almost a divine status.

.

Alas! Their conqueror, the Spaniards,

Never understood this fact.

For those mercinaries,

It was a mere metal,

To be plundered.

.

The Spaniards mercilessly

Butchered the Incas,

And the river of blood,

Redenned the Andes.

Another tale of shame,I guess,

Of man made mess,

Reflecting the Incas’ woes,

And the Spaniards’,

Heart of darkness.
