I HAD ALWAYS WAITED FOR THIS RAIN…
The lost rhythms of my heart had found its tune again,
As I knew that you were there for me, as I knew that it had rained.
I thought I could forget you-
But, in the green meadows of my mind,
You always existed, like rain, which when showers,
Makes the long dry months a lost memory-
Makes it feel like a long, forgotten pain.
You did downpour heavily,
Wetting the deepest recesses of my unconscious self,
And I bloomed like a rare desert flower-
Embracing my metamorphosis, my true self.
It rained, rained and rained,
Until it washed away all my inhibitions-
And before I knew it, you were painting the canvas of my heart,
With the color red, by raining your love lessons.
You challenged my beliefs that I could exist,
Would exist, without your presence by my side-
But now I knew the truth, and would not fight it again,
Now I knew that I had always waited for your revival, I had always waited for this rain.
The lost rhythms of my heart had found its tune again,
As I knew that you were there for me, as I knew that it had rained.
