Draped in gold-brown or rust, glitters the tiny isle
From behind the bare browns, the mellow sun smiles.
*
Fall singing its delicate song in the brittle flavour of the breeze
Chipmunks, squirrels hide their acorns like the mouse hides the cheese.
*
Pumpkins stocked, smokey hot chimneys, pies, cinnamon fill the air
Blue to orange then to crimson, sky scattered with golden fluffy flair.
*
Mufflers, mittens out of the closet, chill sets its first foot
Snow, Coffee, marigold flames now reign, as we wait for sweet coltsfoot.
*
Long nights short days, maple leaves crunching everywhere
Behold this stunning beauty of Nature, let’s celebrate this misty-golden nutty affair! π
