Too soon she learned the ways
Of constraint and reserve,
Rehersed sweetness and
A dignity well conserved.
Yet every now and then
She just couldnt ignore,
A surge of bitterness
That had to be endured.
For when the bitter bile,
Claimed every molecule,
They saw- vain and vile
An object of ridicule.
However righteous the rage,
However strong her cause,
There’s no place for grievances
In a lady’s entourage.
So she sucked in her poisons
Tucked away the bitter gall
A sugar laden tongue
Yellowed, but loved by all.
