Fraction

A life lived in fractions, fraction of a life

A tiny bit of space to call our own

A house, a room, a corner, a bed

Ever shrinking space we can call home

Craving, yearning for someone’s love

A moment of affection, a fleeting touch

Wishing it would last longer, an impossible forever

Striving, struggling to make our mark

A verse, a sport, an office perhaps

Yet the game earned is just as easily lost

We are flirting with life really

A dalliance with what can be

Feeling like a fraction, apart from the whole

So claim your space, your voice, your words

Add up your numbers,

Mind, body and soul

And feel the adventure, the fullness of whole

…..
