White winter adorns the snowscape,
Turning verdant lea into silver grace,
Peeping down from glass window,
She admires a few remaining tufts of leaves,
Quivering under the weight
Of falling snowflakes,
Her deft fingers knit a sweater,
Soft wool curls and takes shape,
While the kittens play with the ball,
Under her chair in the warm hall.
By friendly blaze in the grate,
Reflects a pink blush on her face,
Unawares, she smiles to imagine,
Two tiny feet and tiny hands,
That are going to fill her winters,
With tender love and heavenly warmth.
