Here I stand at the twilight And watch the setting sun,
Crimson light at the horizon Takes me to the loving home,
Where we started our life anew.
You and me full of love ,
Soon after our marriage,
Our house echoed with the delightful laughter ,
Of our angels brightening every corner,
How happy we were, but then !
A curse befell our cherubs
Slowly they lost the strength,
To a dreadful monster ,
Doctors called it muscular dystrophy
How painful it was to see our dear ones,
Being wasted slowly ,painfully,
I hid my pain, wiped my tears,
Worked earnestly and prayed desperately ,
Alas! My Prayers were not answered,
I saw my progeny leave one after the other before me
.Nobody can understand the excruciating pain,
Fierce stabs of destiny parents feel,
When they have to bury their own children!
How I wished to die with each one of them,
But ——the feeling- who will look after the others,
Kept me alive .
I still wonder why me,why my family was chosen ?
To face such ordeal
I know, life is tough for everyone ,
But I have braved the hell.
