Forever and a dream

‘Forever’ twirled and landed,

On the soft sands of her tender mind,

Transporting her into a perfect realm,

Its promise, she held close to her heart.

.

She signed ‘forever’ on friendships,

Watered them with smiles and true words,

Branded the patches with unique seals,

Securing them against weather’s rough hands.

.

She wrote odes to eternal bonds,

And envisioned the happy ‘ever after’,

She BELIEVED, undeterred by derision,

Humming the sacred hymn in her heart.

.

Time reshaped things and people,

Tearing down the revered, known haven,

She lamented the loss but surrendered,

Returning ‘forever’ to  the abode of pages.
