Festering Silences

Amber brown pools are your eyes

Like the cups o’ evening tea, they stare into me.

Listen to the silence when love whispers,

Speaking many truths of life, between the clink of glazed blue crockery.

                          ***************************

A festered wound opens many gangrenous memories.

Perhaps, the words are toxic, or is it your absence?

Moments of your presence linger like stagnant smoky    rings.

How much that is said should’ve been left unsaid!

  2. Your poems are a visual treat. Honestly. I feel I am right there, dwelling with your subject.

    1. Thank you Sonali and Natasha. The first was penned as an entry and then I wrote the next verse.

  3. Sigh! This is so poignant. The remorse and longing is palpable. Sometimes, the what if’s can haunt us forever.
