Yes, i’m a tiny fragment
a fragile shiny grain
kissed and cradled by the brine
i endure the splashing waves
i survive your footsteps
i’m brittle but i treasure a gem
i have no destination, though
i remember from where i came;
they blasted my gigantic frame
disintegrated me to a crumbly fame
corroded by the gushing cascade
yet i thrived, i survived, i didn’t fade
i prayed and hoped for polished days
now, i’m embraced by the frothy ebbs
i never gave up on life’s game
i relish my new self, though, a bit maimed
my battle continues for i’m not only a soldier, a fighter
I’m a proud survivor.
