Expendable

Expendable

Dearest dreamer,

Even though your feet is bloodied in thorns,

And your  strength is crushed by vengeful storms-

Even though you have unsettling ideas,

And have suffered persistent failures,

Know this, you are not expendable.

.

It is your hopeless romanticism,

To drink life to the lees,

To sink and swim,

To dare and dream,

That saves your soul

From being expendable.

.

No! You are not expendable!

So believe in your dreams-

And work with zest in your chosen schemes.

It will make you,

Or break you.

But still, take the chance

To reach your goal.

For you are a traveler,

An Everyman-

Bravely pursuing the uphill task,

To take life as it comes.
