Another Year Gone By

Shrivelled flowers

replaced by fresh blossoms

Vase old, same room

let in a new day,

Of night’s stillness

soon broken

Ringing bells, bursting revelry

Moon old, the same sky

shone with new hopes-

In a flash, a day vanished

into nothingness,

a year ashes,

An unusual passing away

where no grief,

no eyes misty

the demise

everyone rejoice

with sparkling wine

Glasses old, same mortals…
