Grandfather clock

Old grandpa bought a new large clock

It was his treasure and his pride

A gift for his beautiful bride

Since it has kept perfect time

Kept the house alive

With its chime

Seen joys and sorrows

Loss and gain

Days filled with sunshine

Drenched with rain

It has its own share

Of memories and pain

Worked tirelessly

Sitting at its post

Grandpa’s most faithful

Ever so joyful

A confidante he found

Only needed to be wound

Though tired and worn

Still works tirelessly

But old he has grown

The next gen loves

Grandfather clock

Much as they miss grandpa now.
