I had mocked at ‘life’s unfair’
Diluting cynicism with ‘believe’
I had rendered my friends a patient ear
Withdrawing from the core’s finite pool

When my soul limped under stress
I took a sabbatical to refill my cup
I believed, my tribe will be there
After a dozen years of selfless love.

When I called out, I heard my own echo
There was no one, near or far
The truth sank in, I silenced my thoughts
Giving my sweet lies, yet another chance.
