the earth dressed in white
mellow golden glints kiss its furry skin
the bare stalks at the distance
stands motionless,
crystal earrings glistening on
their naked soul
the roots buried deep beneath fluffy whites
yet breathing, unhurried,
the last green still clasping to the brown
unwilling to leave its abode,
the irritable frigid gust finally plucks it
swaying and dwindling it settles
on the permafrost soil,
*
the alpine winter has arrived
the snowy breeze whistling
the misty song of wilderness,
birch, pine, fir, relishing the
milky ice cream
the silver chunk shining high
in the velvety dark sky, wanes
gradually, every evening,
promising an undying love
to the snow-draped blue orb
promising it’ll return, some other night,
with a heart full of gleam,
*
the delicately plummy snowman
near the fence decks up in
his chosen winter garments
flowers, bells, wreath, candle, stars
embellish the doorstep
the sleigh, reindeers, a bagful of bliss
waiting to embark on
a journey, ready to be distributed,
the gifts of happiness at each door as
anxious eyes await to hear the jingling bells,
the Journey of the old Red man
from Lapland to Loveland will begin soon. 💚
