Yearning

As dusk unfolds,

It’s shimmering blanket,

Across the endless sky,

My body burns,

For a touch that’s yours,

My heart sings,

A melody only you know,

My soul craves,

An entwining only with yours.

Yet you are so far away,

That all I have left,

Is a yearning,

That won’t go,

A love that flows,

Like a river untamed,

A passion unbridled,

And I wait for dawn,

To cover the sky,

In its morning hues,

To find some temporary respite.
