Xylophone

Draw music when you strike

The rainbow bars, or black, brown and white

Draw music when you strike down your fear

Hear the melody in the air

In the chants, loud and fair

Hear the melody in the air when voices unite

Keep the beat when they march

Down the street along the church

Keep the beat when they march hand in hand

Play the tune your heart desires

The symphony it aspires

Play the tune your heart desires till the end

  1. Love the structure of your poem, Amrita, with the repetition. Beautiful one:
    Loved these lines a lot…

‘Play the tune your heart desires
    The symphony it aspires’

    1. Thank you Moonmoondi. I tried to follow a structure for the first time…usually I pay very little heed to form…marvel at those who can..so tried with a simple one

  2. Remarkable! Loved your verses💚

  3. Very well penned Amrita💚
