What's in a Name?

She lives a life

Befitting that of a Queen

No worldly possessions

But filled with calm and elan

Her Grandpa’s pride

Who fought for her name

Unacceptable in their community

But they still didn’t give in

Like a father’s prized ornament

Which isn’t easy to part

Like a mother’s faith

Which isn’t easy to break

Like a sister’s love

Which isn’t transitory

Seeking passion and affection

From all quarters of her life

Learning things the hard way

She grew strong and held on

No storm was so savage and rough

That couldn’t be navigated with prayers

Thankful and humbled

She lives life, head on!

Zenobia means ‘Queen’ in Latin and a ‘Father’s ornament’ in Arabic
