They box and label with expertise,
Years of experience come in handy,
Indifferent to aspect of the soul,
Physical appearance is the key.
.
Some cages are labelled ‘too fat’,
Some say ‘too dark’ with a dark grin,
Slightest deviation of God’s mould,
Meticulously stamped, discarded as sin.
.
Some victims withdraw from public sphere,
Some dread the mirror, for eternity,
Some drown in a sea of guilt and shame,
Shattered by upholders of vicious ills.

Poignant poem, dear Moonmoon!
Thank you, Pooja. 💚
What a hard hitting one on the labels we use freely on others. This one needed to be penned and you have done so with flair, dear Moonmoon.💚💚
Ever so grateful for the kind encouragement, Natasha. I wouldn’t have been able to keep at the A to Z, without the motivation from you all. Thanks from my heart. 💚
Mere mortals how brutally they judge and label others.
Yes, true, ma’am. Thank you for reading, ma’am. 💚
Standardisation, we need to fit into moulds. A very thought provoking and brutal truth. Plath fought against this too in her poems.
Thank you so much, Mumtaz for the lovely comment. I have only read Sylvia Plath’s novel ‘the Bell Jar’ . Thanks for mentioning her poems.., yet to explore them.💚
Harsh reality. I do feel guilty.
So sorry ma’am. My poem is aimed at the unjust practice of crushing other people’s spirit with such cruel/ superficial labels. I know you are too nice to hurt other people intentionally. 💚💚💚
So well penned Moonmoon.
Thank you, Ketki for the kind words💚
Moonmoon, very nicely put… The harsh reality which needs to be changed
Thanks a lot, dear. 💚
So beautifully created Moonmoondi…alas it’s a sad reality
Thanks so much, dear Amrita.
Yes, indeed…
Very true. We are stereotyped when infact everyone is a creation of god. Very poignant but harsh reality
Thank you so much, dear Gowri. 💚
Profound my dear💚💚
You’re nailing it each day😍😍
Keep writing such amazing poems double chaand.
Thanks so much, dear Sonali for the warm words of encouragement. 💚💚
