Sudha Chandran: A Miracle

Reverberating music and dancing steps,

That little girl kept everyone mesmerised,

Her graceful moves and magic swirls,

Was she human or an angel  from above?

Divine grace upon her was bestowed.
                   **************

It wasn’t just pain after tragic mishap,

Excruciating and unbearable,

But an end of a cherished dream ,

“ It was the only purpose I had in life, ma,”

“Wasn’t it better I should’ve gone ?”

              ***************

Tears trickled down her rosy cheeks,

Her eyes stared at a future bleak,

No words mother had to console,

For her leg had had gangrene,

Amputation was now the only scheme.

           ******************

Physical wounds healed by and by ,

Pain subsided to a large extent ,

But her heart ached ,life felt hollow,

Then a divine power made her confident,

Moving slowly with Jaipur foot she learnt,

              ****************

Baby steps towards her dream bit by bit,

Sometimes tears flowed incessantly

Yet with each step she swelled her grit ,

Perseverance paid up,a miracle was cast,

Her baby steps turned ,rhythmic dancing steps.

              ********************

Once again she set the stage on fire ,

Keeping all her audience in a trance.
