Silent Night

I wake up

and your thoughts engulf me

like a warm shawl on a wintery morning

As I sip the morning brew,

moments we’ve spent together

flash as fresh as the tea I enjoy

savouring the memories

of phone talks

text messages

and those

passing-by secret smiles

Any attempts to cease

the coming thoughts

fail and continue to haunt me

even through your elongated absence

When the morbid day starts

I hope it to settle in the

endless chores I have ahead

Yet you linger in the things I do

As if you’re looking at every

minute movement of me

But the reality that

you’re nowhere close to

even thinking about me

Strikes me like a needle, piercing

in the middle of a silent night!

I am an aspiring writer. I'm still discovering my strengths and learning the art of poetry and prose.

Professionally, I'm into Internal Communications and feel blessed to have a work life that is closely related to what I am passionate about, Writing :)
