Race against time
She wakes up to the alarm buzz
Sleep still lingering over her eyes
A strong desire to rest some more
Oh no, children have to go to school
Breakfast, lunch boxes
I will be late again at the office
It is her race against time.
He reminisced his childhood
A fun filled life
Bicycle rides
Summer holidays at grandpa’s home
Now the laptop is his companion
Family visits on video calls
His race against time ongoing
As a grey haired figure
Stares back in the mirror.
Life is like a race
Competing with time
Stand in way of time
Add value to your life
Live each moment
Great men die
In the race of life
They continue to live
For the legacy left behind.
