Nostalgic Self

#PoetryParlour #AZatPP# day14#N

Nostalgia

Somethings remains,

Inked in your heart,

That has jolted you,

Somehow, somewhere-

It stays with you,

As a balm or a pain,

And becomes something,

Called nostalgia.

.

Your nostalgic self,

Rejoices and grieves,

Pines and screams,

May be for that lost love,

First kiss,

Or your native land.

A sweet pain,

Engulfs your being,

As an old picture, a similar place,

A known person or an used thing,

Makes you reconstruct ,

Those events again,

In your brain.

.

Nostalgia reminds you,

From time to time,

That those sweet nothings,

Those crushed dreams,

Those life changing decisions,

Or your silent screams

All has become a part,

Of your present self.

You have lived life,

For better or worse,

But you must come to terms,

With your evolved self.
