Need I be a Woman to live life
Must I shun my dreams and call it sacrifice?
The conversations with them and you
Will they ever turn real
Till when should I try to fit-in
and hide my mixed-up ordeal?
In thoughts, in actions, I still befit the girly shoes
Often times also a grown up, digging up my roots
My moods you see, never remain same
I’m a wanderer, in love with the mountains and rain!
I also, haven’t birthed a child yet
Does that also cease my Womanhood
Untill now, I was only taught
Unmarried folks, serve no good!
There’s so much more to surviving
In the confines, set by unnamed
The rules, the expectations
A decorated picture, intricately framed!
To stay where I was born without permit
What must I do
Should I shun my dreams
And lengthen the sacrificing queue?
