My Valentine Tale

My Valentine Tale

I loved that boy who made me my first paper boat,

I loved that girl who helped to keep it afloat.

I loved that bell which ushered the school vacation,

I loved that train which took me to a hill station.

.

I loved my cousins who took me under their wings,

I loved my brother who gifted those earrings.

I loved those days when my nonsense actions were not frowned upon,

I loved that place which embraced me as it’s own.

.

I loved my parents who endured my adolescence storm,

I loved that neighbour who baked a cake for our home.

I loved that mirror which announced me as beautiful,

I loved those books which made my reading joyful.

.

I loved that man who shamelessly kissed me,

I loved my friends who good- naturedly teased me.

I loved that rain which made me to cling to him,

I loved that moment which sealed my fate with him.

.

They often ask me,”Who then is your Valentine?”

A question which amuses and puzzles me all the time.

I guess my true being has evolved by those people, things, events and time,

Hence together they can sum up to be my Valentine.
