By any book.
On the pavement block.
I was fascinated as a child
With my mom’s heels, oh so high.
Stood I in them, one fine day
Came away with a terrible foot sprain.
As I grew up to be 5- foot nothing,
I once again stepped into those monstrous heels, hoping
That this time, I would sashay like the models.
In reality, like a duck I did waddle.
My legs began aching,
My knees started shaking,
The 4 inch- killer stilettos,
Made me topple to the floor.
Ever since, heels took a hatred to me!
NO! It was the other way around, you see.
I am now content being closer to ground zero,
Don’t care if I reach just the chest of my six- foot hero!
