Inside

Inside a wonderous world I am,

She hugs me tight, often in delight,

Cupped in her belly,

I feel her heartbeat each time.

She whispers often,

Love oozes through her words,

Feeding me, nourishing me,

Promising to cherish me.

Sometimes I’m naughty,

Giving her kicks too many,

And she warns to discipline me,

When I am in her arms.

I giggle, I laugh,

For I know it isn’t true,

She’s as gentle as an angel,

That waits for me on the other side.

Soon I will be cuddled,

Nestled in a warm cocoon,

One that promises,

To beat the wonders of this world inside.

* I have attempted to start and end the poem with the same word ‘Inside’.
