the tiny pearls that tumble from heaven
are a boon for some and to some a bane
in their plush balconies some sail paper boats
while some struggle to put together their polythene roofs
some enjoy the splashes and cooks flavorful platter
some struggle to hold on to their belongings amidst flooded squatter
soggy breeze, damp walls, waterlogged alleys frighten them
while others enjoy sipping steaming cups in the warmth of their home
to some the rains bestow them undeclared holidays
while some battle to earn and feed the hungry mouths every day
yet the skinny kids forgetting their worries dance in the puddles
unwinds to their heart’s content, upon tomorrow leaving life’s puzzles
the sweetest pour gently touch their freckled, tired skin
drenching them in mirth, cheerfulness, an everlasting happy feeling!💚
