Fallen Dreams

Buoyant dreams

of unfettered life

crooned melodies of freedom

day ‘n night

on silver hope, soared high.

Plummeted to dark abysm

when wings clipped

of dreams tethered,

lilts of ipseity stifled

faded away chirps,

breathed last

succumbed silently

the other day, life

Passed many phases of the moon,

Earth changed numerous garbs

but remained persistent

the pain

lurked behind skin-deep smiles,

No anodyne

No salve soothed aching

Core cadaverous

a sepulchre holding mortals-

Debris of hope

waves crash recurrently

inundate

then retreat silent feet

leaving behind traces

of wistful brine glistening eyes
