Desires

That thing we all crave for,

acceptance, validation

Call it what you will

.

That wisp of affection

That shapes our realities

I craved, till I caved

.

The darkness in my heart

I survived and lit my skies

With lanterns of hopes

.

Empty words, I filled

As I willed

Till they breathed life

.

In them I found a life

They ended my strife

With me

.

Behold, mirror to my soul

I hold

I see some scars

.

There is pain in me

And a little bit of vanity

But its not ugly

.

Somewhere in twilight,

Between my fears and wits,

I grew up.
