December in India

My beautiful December,

Like the colourful twilight,

Of a bright pleasant day,

Yet much more lovely,

Than the the day itself,

Who knew that the end,

Could be so mesmerising,
With smiling green fields,

And flowers of all hues,

Taking away the winter blues,

Long boughs laden

with oranges ,lemons,

guavas ,pomegranates,

Sometimes basking in the sunshine,

Or cold and shivering in the winter rain.
Closing a beautiful year,

Full of sorrows and joys,

Meetings and partings,

Some new friends,

some new wounds,

Now the curtain falls

with Christmas Carols,

On the good old year,

With palpitating heart,

We wait for a brighter new year.
